Embroidery
The embroidery on the Kebaya has intricate details, as apart from having the beautiful placement embroidery on the bodice and sleeves, the beading on top of the lace brings out the essence of the beauty. The embroidery or the lace tulle used in the Kebaya has beautiful intricate line details, unlike the traditional embroidery used. The use of metalic thread in creating the motifs shows a modern touch and elegance. Moreover, the beading on the lace reinforces the beauty of fabric and add hand work value to it which is very priceless.
I love the idea of the beading on the lace, it also connects to the concept of Kebaya. It is very pricey, i might need to source the manufacturer to get cheaper price. However, using beautiful fabric, might not need complicated in patterns, because the fabric itself already shines by itself, especially plus with the beading.
This embroidery is really inspiring to create beautiful motifs in my collection.

Flower embroidery
This is a beautiful brazilian embroidery, the flowers are intricately embroidered. As i am currently developing textiles for my final collection, looking at how flowers are embroidered would be beneficial and inspiring. The use of the linework embroidery to create 3D image of 2D drawing looks fantastic. I might use this method for later, depending on what i am deciding. I also got inspired by linework embroidery in the picture:

Mentors
Mary Katrantzou
She relates to my aesthetic, as I love ornate and serene colour. Her collection, uses very calm colour and the beauty of the infinite print are very feminine. The feminine also reflects on the silhouette of the garment and the movement in the fabric.
Marchesa
Marchesa has very feminine, and eccentric style. They use detailing in the accessories, hand beading and the use of the transparent fabric. They are also very ornate, with heavy details of flowers, and motifs.
Blake Lively
In this style sheet, my muse has a really confident in her styles, as she does not need a stylist. She is very down to earth, and very effortless in her dressing style. Furthermore, she is smart, sexy, funny and easy going, she likes to wear blouse, jacket, shorts and pants.
The note book style has been used because she is an actress, model and doing advertising for campaign and others, her life is really busy, and she will need a book to organize her schedule. Everyday she would be busy yet she could still find time to try to have a great brunch, with reading books and bringing her dog.
Moreover, as she likes styling, styling is her part time job for her, therefore she would have time to do shopping in the higher and expensive district in new york. She likes to challenge herself in

Ricardo Tisci
This couture 2011, Riccardo Tisci has amazing ideas to create this collection. Riccardo Tisci is the creative art director of Givenchy. He has dramatic, romantic, elegant and sexy style in his collection even though its couture. I really love how he plays with the body and the transparency versus solid in the garment. The front can be simple but the back it juxtaposes with the front. In my final year, i am thinking to do beading, and using transparent fabric as well.
Basso & Brooke
SS 09
Basso and Brooke are the duo who invent a creative digital print that is engineered to the garment.
I love their style which is very surrealist, graphical, and maximalist in the print. It has sense of commercialism, and escapism, with the choices of their items to be digitally manipulated.
their ideas are very inspiring, since i am doing the digital print as well, i could look what the most that has been done in digital print.

Style
Birdie
I'm interested in putting birds as one of my main features in the textiles illustration. The birds have so many colours and details in the wings that intrigues me. My illustration of flowers to depict the beauty of garden would be evocative with the additional of birds. It conveys the moment when all the surrounding of the garden, how the birds eat the honey from the flower. Im thinking maybe it could enlighten the textile pieces, and make the textile more alive and real.

Victorian era interior
This Victorian Era style is really beautiful with the decorations and dynamicity of the wall. The wall is not completely flat, it has bordir and profile to enrich the look. So it looks veryy luxurious. The colour used is very minimalist, and very feminine in a way. It also has element of elegance, by imagining to have cup of tea, and relaxing on the sofa.
Textiles Kimono
I really really love this japanese textiles kimono. It is vintage, and only come up in one roll, which is only 10 meter (enough for making one kimono). i just found out, about my aesthetic detail from this fabric due to beautiful and solidness of the weaving. Moreover, the motif is very delicately woven with the metalic thread. I love the aspect of the metaliic, to make it looking more luxurious and standing out.
Floral
This cherry blossom image, is very nice, the ppink, and the amount of petals in the the root create a fluffy and full of colours and gradation. It is very calming, romantic, painful by imagining how the petal falls.
In this picture taken from Canberra, i really love how the reflection of the flowers mirrored from the lake. The composition of the garden has tranquility atmosphere, ver serenity, and very romantic in a way. Very full detailed of flowers appear here as well.

DEFINING STYLE
DEFINING STYLE
After browsing at some photos, there are always certain photo that captures my eyes. Flowers, garden, beautiful intricate textiles, high detail garment and soft colour with contrasting image will be the one that i think reflect my style. Therefore, i classify my style as feminine, delicate (as i love the detailing of the textiles), classic (i like much more simple silhouette with nice printed fabric), soft (i like transparency and mixture of colour, layering) and serenity (which i derive from looking at gardens, nature and the frozen time in photography).

Zena Holloway
Zena Holloway is one of the fashion photographer who specialises in the Underwater theme. the garments are worn by the models, with the photos are taken underwater to create a beautiful freeze movement of fabric and the model. with the lighting, and deep colour sea highlight the treasures and divine, that each of the garment has. The feeling of romance and struggles can be felt, like the mermaid.
Lovely Textiles
I was just looking through some fabrics that i found, and i found out about this amazing textiles (handmade). The motifs and colours are very exquisite, and very feminine with the delicate detailings that each of the textiles has. I just cant believe it that they are all hand made with the waxing technique. Some of the textiles have single day, 2 dyes and 3 dyes. With more dyes, more work and thought need to be considered before the waxing start because of the colour change that it will has after the second dye and the third dye.
Unfortunately, these masterpiece works are rarely found, only some textile collectors would keep them. As the textiles now, people find an alternative way to create the textile more efficient and in fast pace, such as digital printing.
Flower Digital printing
This flower printed for scarf haas beautiful and romantic feeling with the gradation and wash out effect. The flowers are very clear and positioned at the end of the scarf.
I am thinking whether i should d digital printing of flowers. However, the more i thought, i think it would be better to experiment more. SOmetimes, with digital printing, you can achieve all the romantic and feeling that you want, digital printing allows to have 100 colours in one page. On silk, it will be expensive.
