Batik Sample

These are the sample of Batiks that i have asked my Batik teacher back in Indonesia to make them. Normally, the Batik has degree of difficulty depending on how many colours you want to achieve in one piece of fabric. The samples that are shown above, 3 different colours are used. The fabrics used are silk and cotton. Cotton absorbs the colors less than silk. However, cotton is easier to work with during waxing processes. As silk, it is a little bit tricky, since silk is a very sheer fabric, the wax could just go through the fabric, or the wax could spread and resulting in thicker line. The process took really long time which i dont think it is a good idea to use this technique for my collection. The process of waxing one colour already took long time. Imagine to have a lot of different colours per garment in my collection, i am afraid of the limitations of time that we have to finish everything in time.
