SAMPLE BEADING

After i draw a lot of flowers from the photographs that i took. I have to think how to translate all the drawings onto the fabric. Firstly, i looked at the lace that i got, looking through how the kebaya is normally beaded, i tried one sample as seen above. The traditional Kebaya normally plays with a lot of contrast colours, and i want to bring it more delicate and elegance by playing the tone colour. AFter i finished beading, i was experimenting laser cutting flower motif. Laser cutting is a technique to create embellishment on the fabric. It is also a nice translation from traditional aspect of Kebaya embroidery to modern approach. Here, i layered laser cut flower fabric on top of the beading that i did, the result looks amazing. The lace with the metalic fabric are shining together. However, to apply this technique on the garment, it could be overpowering due to the metallic and shine each fabric has.
